Edwards, Chuck. " Characteristics of a Successful TV Commercial." Helium. 01 Nov 2009. Helium, Web. 1 Nov 2009. .

This article talks about what makes a television commercial successful. It lists reasons and examples about what commercial producers do, to grab their viewers attention. Some of the reasons they listed are: know your intended target, define your message, tell of the product features but show the product benefits, tell a compelling story, be funny because you only get one chance, create a "Story Board", and don't skimp on production. It tells us how these steps help business's get their foot in the door. If their advertising commercials has these qualities, it will be successful. Overall, the main thing is the character of the company that keeps people coming back.
I think this article has some good points on how the media uses our strength's and weakness's to get us enveloped in their products or messages. I think the media does a good job of grabbing our attention by using the commercials they use. They play off everything we are interested in, and make us want whatever they are showing. I think they go through a great deal of time to do this, but it pays off for them in the end.
